Census Date for Financial Aid
The financial aid census date is day at Empire State College is day 29 of the standard 15-week term. This means that students who plan to take courses in multiple sessions during the term, must register in all courses for the term (regardless of the session start/end date) before the census date of that term in order for the course(s) to be included in that term award. For example students enrolling for any fall 2025 session (courses starting on or after September 2, 2025 and ending on or before December 12, 2025) must be registered for all courses by September 30, 2025 to maximize aid eligibility. Pell eligibility for the term is fixed on day 29 of each term.
The census dates for the 2025-2026 academic calendar are as follows:
- Summer 2025- June 9, 2025
- Fall 2025- September 30, 2025
- Spring 2026- February 9, 2026
The census dates for the 2024-2025 academic calendar were as follows:
- Summer 2024- June 10, 2024
- Fall 2024- October 1, 2024
- Spring 2025- February 10, 2025

Apply now for aid for the 2025-2026 year to include summer 2025, fall 2025 and spring 2026 terms. Students should have all financial aid applications and materials complete and turned in to the office prior to April 11, 2025 in order to ensure processing prior to the payment deadline for the summer 2025 term.
